Drops of foul smelling liquid crash onto the damp cobblestone as you push past the iron gate, rusted shut it moans into the abyss. Stairs exhumed in the slippery stone crawl ever downward, further into the sewer. With one task in mind, the reader trudged on into the darkness, searching for a clog in drain two seventeen. A shit job done to pay the bills, only it may cost you your life dear reader!
Down the corridors of algae and stone you begin to see pipes, barred off and set back about 5 feet from the tunnel. Each is a cylindrical metal tube over 5' in diameter with a caged opening to keep larger items of waste from clogging the smaller hole below, spewing it’s filth into a set of smaller pipes, draining under the floor and down further into the cavern, where eventually it settles into an underground lake of toxic filth. As you reach the 28th crossroad, a sharp clank of metal strikes your ears. You look to your left to locate the noise while you get your poking stick out, a wooden tool obviously used to clear the gutters and kill small vermin. Not to your surprise it is just a rat, well a rather large one but still, just a rat stuck in the pipe. Do you wiggle it free?
Further into the tunnels and the smell is almost unbearable, human waste and rot. Bloated flies whir past you in a stream as you approach the two hundred seventeenth drain. Clogging the pipe were a few of the missing townsfolk, badly mutilated and festering with maggots. A light scurrying bounces across the cobblestone and you turn around to see large rats draped in moldy, piss stained rags scramble across the floor and walls. You were gutted immediately.

Welcome to the Sewers of Estark, where dark creatures roam free of the shadows, and heroes become legends in battles versus evil forces. Most of my painting and collecting is used for 3rd edition warhammer or other RPGs. Usually assumed to be the dungeon master I reflect that in my collection, and I typically prefer monsterous models.
The small chaos warband above was painted last year. Haven’t had much time this year for additional projects as I started the OWAC in January and have been painting up a formidable force of Tom Meier Lizardmen. Link below if you’re interested in taking a look! And while you’re there check out some of the other challengers doing some amazing work!
